Hover-powered learning

Hands-on STEM | Hover-powered learning

At The Hovercraft Project, we believe that education should feel less like a worksheet... and more like a launchpad.

We bring a full-scale mobile STEM lab to school gymnasiums. In just one day, students will collaborate in teams to design, build, test, and ride their own working hovercrafts.

The mission? More than just lift-off. It’s about lifting minds—and confidence.

We serve 5th graders because they’re at that magical age where curiosity, creativity, and chaos collide. During the 5 hour day, they learn about physics, engineering, problem-solving, perseverance, overcoming failure, and the undeniable thrill of discovering what they’re capable of.

But this isn’t just about STEM.
It’s about confidence.
It’s about collaboration.
It’s about helping students learn to love to learn—because when you feel the wind in your hair from something you built, learning hits different.

Led by educator and inventor Matthew Chase, our team has spent over 20 years crafting a project-based learning experience that stays with students long after the day ends and the leaf blowers stop.

We don’t just bring the cool factor—we bring a mission:
To help kids believe in themselves, lean into challenges, and discover the joy of learning through motion and grit.

We’re not just building hovercrafts.
We’re building the future minds because when students feel what they’re capable of, it changes how they show up in every classroom after.
